Apartment K
This project explores how thoughtful design and precise spatial planning can transform a compact 30 m² apartment into a highly functional and atmospheric living space. Every centimeter was carefully considered to create a home that feels complete, comfortable, and visually coherent despite its limited footprint.
The concept is based on layering functions within a single compact volume. The central architectural element of the apartment is a raised platform that defines the living area. Within this structure, a hidden pull-out bed is integrated and slides out like a drawer when needed, allowing the space to effortlessly transition from daytime living room to nighttime bedroom. During the day, the platform hosts a sofa and lounge chair, creating a comfortable seating area without sacrificing precious floor space.
A dark and sophisticated material palette enhances the sense of depth and continuity throughout the apartment. Warm wood textures, ribbed panels, and natural stone surfaces are paired with deep tones and subtle lighting to create a calm, almost cinematic atmosphere. Integrated LED lighting highlights architectural lines and adds layers of ambient illumination, preventing the compact interior from feeling confined.
Storage is seamlessly embedded into the architecture. Full-height cabinetry and open shelving structures divide the space while maintaining visual permeability, allowing light to travel through the apartment. The entry area incorporates concealed storage behind textured glass panels, while the workspace is integrated along the wall as a minimal yet functional home office.
The bathroom continues the strong material identity of the apartment with dark marble surfaces, warm copper accents, and soft indirect lighting. Even within this small footprint, the design accommodates a full shower, custom vanity, and stacked washer-dryer, ensuring everyday practicality.
The result is a compact yet expressive interior that demonstrates how smart spatial strategies, multifunctional furniture, and careful material choices can transform a very small apartment into a comfortable, elegant, and fully equipped home.
