Attic apartment M

This attic apartment was designed as a warm and contemporary home for a young couple, combining the character of a traditional roof structure with modern comfort and expressive materials. The sloped ceilings and exposed wooden beams define the architectural identity of the space, creating a strong rhythm that runs throughout the open-plan interior while emphasizing the generous height of the attic.

Natural materials and warm tones form the core of the design concept. Herringbone wooden flooring, walnut elements, and textured fabrics create a cozy and intimate atmosphere, balanced by light surfaces and custom-built white cabinetry that visually expand the space and provide generous storage along the sloped walls.

The central living area is organized around a sculptural fireplace clad in natural stone, which anchors the space and acts as a visual divider between the lounge and the entrance. A large, soft modular sofa and a warm-toned lounge chair create a comfortable gathering space, while layered lighting and sculptural pendant lamps add a soft ambient glow.

The kitchen and dining area are integrated into the open plan, featuring a compact island with terrazzo surfaces and warm wood cabinetry. The dining space is highlighted by a bold artistic wall treatment and iconic pendant lighting, creating a lively focal point and a setting for shared meals and social moments.

Custom millwork plays a key role throughout the apartment. Built-in shelving and a window seat create a quiet reading corner with views of the surrounding landscape, while a small home office is seamlessly integrated under the sloped roof, providing a functional workspace without disrupting the calm aesthetic.

The bedroom is designed as a serene retreat beneath the roof lights, where soft textures, muted colors, and a panoramic wall mural create a calm and intimate atmosphere. Natural light from the skylights enhances the sense of openness while maintaining the cozy character typical of attic living.

The overall design balances functionality and atmosphere, transforming the attic into a modern, welcoming home that reflects the lifestyle of a young couple—intimate, flexible, and full of character.
